The Baphalane Ba Mantserre Community Development Trust (BBMCDT) was established on 26 October 2002 under the leadership of founder Mr Digwamaje Saltiel Ramokoka, following the successful restitution of communal land under the Restitution of Land Rights Act 22 of 1994.

The Trust is mandated to hold and manage Portion 1 of the Farm Schilpadnest 385KQ on behalf of the community and to ensure that this land becomes a catalyst for economic opportunity, sustainable development, and improved quality of life.  The trust is community lead and elected committed to safeguarding Baphalane land and leading development that transforms lives.

The Baphalane Ba Mantserre Community Development Trust is a community-elected governance structure created to administer communal land and lead programmes that uplift the Baphalane community socially, economically and structurally.

The Trust is the legal custodian of community land restored through restitution and is responsible for ensuring that the land is protected, utilised responsibly, and leveraged for development that benefits all.

Our Mandate

BBMCDT ’s mandate is focused on land stewardship, community development, and economic empowerment. Every initiative is designed to uplift the people of Baphalane Ba Mantserre whilst protecting communal assets for future generations. Through strategic partnerships, infrastructure development, educational support and community upliftment programmes, the Trust ensures that every beneficiary shares in the progress made on their land. BBMCDT established The Baphalane Ba Mantserre Business Trust which owns 100% shareholding of Baphalane Ba Mantserre Investment Holdings (BBMIH), a vehicle that manages and invest all resources derived by the Community Development Trust. To ensure community development projects are undertaken in the interest of the community, The Baphalane Ba Mantserre Non-Profit Company (BBMNPC) was established as a vehicle to invest back in the community of Mantserre.
